I am sure you have heard of the story of the janitor who created flaming hot Cheetos. It goes like this there was a Janitor working and one of the machines didn't put cheese on it and he took it home and put a spicy dust on them. And he was so confident of his idea that he pitched it to his boss and he got promoted to CEO. Well guess what that story is fake.
Let's start off with the basics flaming hot Cheetos where created by a team of professionals. He actually did become the CEO though. His story is not 100% fake because it happened to someone else the creator of Cheetos he was cleaning the machine and he took it home and put cheese on it. ( look at my other Cheetos article for that story) They started creating flaming hot Cheetos in 1989 so most of the people who created flaming hot Cheetos retired by 2000 which was when Richard Montañez started spreading the rumors about him creating flaming hot Cheetos. The few people that still worked there Told Frito lay in 2018 that Richard Montañez was taking public credit for flaming hot Cheetos so Frito lay sayed "We value Richard’s many contributions to our company, especially his insights into Hispanic consumers, but we do not credit the creation of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos or any Flamin’ Hot products to him.” so his story is fake as proven by what Frito lay sayed.
So in conclusion He made a lot of money but in the end it turned out that his unbelievable story of rags to riches was false but if you want to see a inspiring rags to riches story check out my other Cheetos article.
